Description
Vermicompost is an organic manure produced by the decomposition of biodegradable waste materials such as crop residues, farm waste, kitchen waste, and animal dung with the help of earthworms. During this process, earthworms convert organic waste into a fine, stable, and nutrient-rich compost that improves soil fertility and structure. Vermicompost contains essential plant nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and micronutrients in readily available forms. It improves soil aeration, water-holding capacity, and porosity, while also enhancing beneficial microbial activity in the soil. The use of vermicompost promotes healthy root development, better plant growth, and increased crop yield. It is eco-friendly, safe for long-term soil health, and helps reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.
Objectives
1. To recycle biodegradable waste into a valuable organic fertilizer.
2. To improve soil fertility, structure, and water holding capacity.
3. To provide essential nutrients to plants in an easily available form.
4. To enhance soil microbial activity and promote beneficial microorganisms.
5. To support healthy root development and better plant growth.

Description
Trichovermi is an integrated organic manure developed by combining the benefits of vermicompost with the bio-control fungus Trichoderma spp., making it a superior alternative to conventional organic fertilizers for sustainable agriculture. Vermicompost itself is produced through the biological decomposition of organic wastes such as crop residues, farm waste, and biodegradable waste by earthworms, resulting in a stabilized, nutrient-rich material that improves soil structure, aeration, water-holding capacity, and microbial activity. The addition of Trichoderma significantly enhances the functional quality of vermicompost, as this beneficial microorganism acts as a natural bio-control agent against several soil-borne plant pathogens. In addition to disease suppression, Trichoderma plays an important role in promoting plant growth by enhancing root development, increasing nutrient uptake, and producing growth-promoting substances. Overall, Trichovermi represents an innovative integration of organic manure and biological disease management, offering an effective solution for sustainable agriculture, improved crop productivity, and environmental conservation.
Objectives
1. To produce value-added vermicompost enriched with Trichoderma.
2. To improve soil fertility, structure, and microbial activity.
3. To suppress soil-borne diseases through biological control.
4. To promote healthy root development and overall plant growth.
